Alan Robbins is a graduate of University of Cincinnati where he received an accounting degree. Following college, he spent 4 busy seasons with Price Waterhouse before transitioning to a different company as a Senior Internal Auditor which eventually became a management position that brought him to Saint Louis. Alan later realized he wanted to get into a sales role so he took a position as the Regional Sales Manager for a consumer food product company. In this role, Alan covered 34 markets in 22 states traveling 44 weeks out of the year. In 1986, he was offered a position as a National Sales Manager. He declined this offer as it would have required him to move to the east coast, which he did not want to do.

Following this decision, Alan did a self-evaluation and really considered what he could do with the skills that he possesses. Knowing he was good with people and with numbers, he looked into financial services and financial planning. He looked at all aspects of the industry and different companies within the industry and ultimately landed on Northwestern Mutual. Alan started with the Qualy Agency, which has since become the Hempstead Agency, in 1986 where he has spent the last 30 years growing his practice.
